Today's Poem is a Couplet

Oh my dear this week in dragging
and my heart and soul are sagging.
What I need to restore me
is a dose of Mr. Storsley.
So I find him in the gym
doing push ups with his chin.
As soon as I see him smile,
I feel better by a mile.
To work here at Fine Arts, an honour.
Led by the great and mighty Bonnar.
So it's never long that I feel down
as there's always someone to reverse my frown!

Today's Poem
An Acrostic

Sarah, Kayla and myself
Undercover in the front hallway
People walk past and don't
Even notice the three 'angels' at the
Ready
Vipers poised to jump
Into action
Supervision trio of power
Indestructible
On top of their duties...
Now wait a minute, where did they go?

Oh my! I have no idea how I managed to post a poem a day for a YEAR!!!! I already forgot to post yesterday... Not a good start! I did head into the gallery yesterday and record my poem for the day... So here is yesterdays poem, as well as today's! I'm sure (I hope) that I get into a rhythm... Thank you for your patience!

From Tuesday October 27th
An Alphabet Poem

A guest visited our class today
By the name of
Cecelia
Driven by the need to share
Every human's worst nightmare and
Fear
Guided by the need to set our
History straight
In her story we discovered the
Journey one takes after experiencing Cultural Genocide
Kindling the past so as to move forward
Leaving the atrocities of Residential Schools behind
Making a concerted effort to
Negotiate a future in a country that
Oppressed and disrespected her
People
Questioning her identity and
Re-discovering her place
Students were moved and felt compassion for her
Trauma
Understanding the impact Canada has had on young
Victims of racial discrimination
Will only heal over time if inequality becomes e-
Xtinct
You can help this happen with a
Zero tolerance policy on racism

Hello Out There!
Although I take nostalgic moments to read some of my poems quite regularly, it has been a long time since I have posted any new ones. I am working at a Fine Arts school, and find that my artist-self is satiated daily, with the creative energy that encircles me. I have not felt the need to write, and am often too exhausted to!
Being surrounded by artists does provide opportunities for us to showcase our talents, and share our ideas and creations. This week in my school Art Gallery, the staff is showing their work. As an actor and writer I was a little stumped. I was not sure how I could participate. I finally decided to set up a table, with a book and a pencil. Every day, for as long as the show runs (I think it is about two weeks), I will come in and write a poem. I will also try to post regularly during that time, so that I can share them online too!
It will be interesting to try this again, albeit for a far shorter commitment (PHEW!). See you in BLOGLAND!!!!!  Sally

Season's Greetings!

To The Students in Room 114...

Enjoy the FESTIVE SEASON
Have fun resting at home.
Where sleigh bells and slippers silhouette snow
All led by holiday gnomes.
May Santa stuff your stockings,
May pudding fill your spleen.
I cannot wait to see your smiles in 2015!!!
