Sitting in a meeting
wondering,
whatever compelled me
to go into this Biz.
I suppose it was
the smell of
apple juice,
warm fuzzies,
stickers,
scented erasers,
calendar songs,
memorable assemblies,
sweet teacher smiles.
Successes,
supported failures,
giggles in the washroom,
holding hands,
working through tears,
making new friends.
Writing stories,
telling secrets,
scoring goals,
collecting memories.
Filling photo albums,
and setting up connections
that will be
recollected
at every reunion.
Building a
childhood
one school day
at a time.
