  Crossroad

There is an
underlying
insecurity
that accompanies
my present
work life.
I can read
the angst
in my poetry.
So when
an opportunity
arose,
I took it.
I applied
for another
job,
just for fun.
I drove into
the valley.
I spent
two hours
trying to
convince
them
that I was
the right person
for the job.
In the process,
I managed to
convince
myself.
When they
offered it to me,
I had the
overwhelming
urge
to say "Yes!"
So I did.
Now that I
straddle the
fence,
juggling
two jobs,
two commitments,
two promises,
I wonder.
What is the
right road
for me?
I remain
parked
in the
intersection.
In the centre
of the
crossroad.
Awaiting
my inspiration,
my sign.
