Unencumbered Pleasure
There's a little fella,
just over a year old,
discovering all the
glories of the beach
for the first time.
He's wearing a
button down shirt
with only one button done,
so it hangs off his
shoulders with style.
His soggy diaper
hangs below,
drooping with gravity,
and every visit
to the water.
His newish hair
rests jaggedly
atop his head,
reminiscent of a
balding man
in his forties.
Absolutely everything
captivates his attention,
but most of his effort
goes into walking.
Remaining upright
in the sand.
He waddles back and forth
from his toys,
to his mom,
presenting her with
tokens from the sea.
Some dried seaweed,
the claw of a crab.
For every delivery
he receives a
plump
juicy
kiss.
It is no wonder
his contentedness
is as plentiful
as the ocean itself.
Sally
So amazing! I could actually picture the kid.
